Follow-up to Fab’s package from last time: Big Huge Labs has a free online tool that lets you automagically create a harmonious colour palette from any photograph.

Listener Feedback: Mick from Australia asks about minimum specs for running Linux. We suggest Xubuntu and talk about how Fab put Damn Small Linux on his USB thumb drive to boot from on any machine that supports booting from USB. There’s also Feather Linux to try.

In the main part of the show we talk about the fact that ATI promised to opensource the 3D drivers and specs for their Radeon cards and Fab goes off on a tangent about MythTV. We then discuss 3D graphics acceleration cards on Linux in general.

We also announce that IBM plans to get serious about OpenOffice.org development and talk about ODF, open standards in general and OpenOffice.

The next story is about how Paul Thurrott announced the “revolutionary” new Server Core feature of Server 2008 from Microsoft on Windows Weekly 34 and we go on to talk about how Vista’s networking is broken by design and the very different design of the Linux kernel.
